The Spyderco Para 3 CPM15V C223GPBN15V Brown, Sprint Run 2024 is a limited edition Sprint Run 2024 of the well-known and also popular Para 3: the successor to the Spyderco Paramilitary 2. This special edition of the Para 3 is enhanced with a blade made from CPM 15V steel. CPM 15V is a high vanadium and high chromium content steel from the Crucible Particle Metallurgy line, designed for exceptional wear resistance and sharpness retention. Compared to other CPM steels, it offers much higher wear resistance than, for example, CPM 3V, which is mainly known for its toughness and impact resistance. CPM 15V sacrifices some of that toughness in favour of long-term sharpness retention. Comparing CPM 15V to supersteels like CPM 20CV or CPM S110V, CPM 15V generally delivers a more balanced performance: this makes CPM 15V an excellent choice for knives that need to maintain a sharp edge under heavy use without becoming too brittle.
