The Fox Knives Vulpis is the most intricate and refined collection from Fox Knives. The Vulpis is a multi-functional, next-level Swiss pocket knife with a modern twist. Fox Knives Vulpis: a Swiss pocket knife, though not from Switzerland

Although the Fox Vulpis pocket knives are produced in Italy and not in Switzerland, we still classify the Vulpis pocket knives as Swiss pocket knives, because they are often equipped with multiple tools. They are also similar in design and functionality to the well-known Swiss pocket knives by Victorinox, for example.

Who makes the Fox Knives Vulpis knives?

The Vulpis series is manufactured by Fox Knives, one of Italy's most renowned knife manufacturers. From Maniago, the knife capital of Italy, Fox has been supplying high-quality cutting products to customers all over the world since 1977. What makes Fox special is their versatility: they produce both affordable knives for everyday use and exclusive, premium quality knives. You will also find a wide range within the Vulpis series, ranging from budget-friendly models to unique, limited editions for the real enthusiast. Fox Knives Vulpis slipjoint mechanism

You open the Fox Vulpis with two hands. To make this a bit easier, there's a nail nick. This gives you just that extra bit of grip with your fingernail.Because the nail nick is a slit in the tool, you can open the blade properly from either the left side and the right side.

This pocket knife does not have a full lock, only a slipjoint mechanism. This mechanism provides enough resistance to ensure the tool won't snap shut as you're using it. However, if you press on the back of the blade, the knife will fold. As a result, the Fox Vulpis is often a good choice in countries with strict knife legislation. We recommend you carefully check local laws to be safe.

Fox Knives Vulpis tools

Depending on the version, you will find 1, 3, 4 or even 5 tools in this compact multi-tool. Each Fox Knives Vulpis knife is equipped with a sharp blade. There are also models available that only have a blade, no additional tools. These are perfect as a minimalist pocket knife for everyday use EDC.

The 3-tool version offers more versatility with a blade, bottle opener, can opener and two flat screwdrivers, making 5 functionalities in total! The 4-tools version adds scissors or a saw, for even more practical applications.

The most elaborate version, the Vulpis 5-tools pocket knife, contains 5 tools with a whopping 7 functions: a blade, saw, bottle opener, scissors, can opener and two flat screwdrivers. This way you'll always have a versatile tool at hand for all kinds of jobs!

Fox Knives Vulpis sizes

In addition to the different tools, the Vulpis pocket knife is also available in several sizes. The EDC pocket knife, the version without additional tools, comes in two sizes: the 130 version and the 108 version. The 130 has a blade length of 5.5 cm, while the 108 has a blade length of 4.5 cm. The smaller variant is about 2 cm more compact overall (unfolded) than the larger version, so you can always choose a size that suits your needs.

Fox Knives Vulpis: materials

As for steels, you can choose from Böhler N690Co, Böhler M390 and even a version with Balbach DSC Damask steel. Regardless of your choice, the blade has either a drop-point or sheepsfoot shape. The blade and tools have a highly polished finish, although models are also available with matted damask or black coating.

Handle materials currently available include aluminium, titanium, carbon fibre and brass. The aluminium versions especially offer a variety of colours to choose from. These handles are available in orange, blue, green, black and bronze/gold, among other colours. The titanium versions are usually grey in colour, but can, like some aluminium models, be fitted with the striking Grenade Pattern finish.
