CRKT Minimalist knife: minimum weight, maximum results
The CRKT Minimalist models are a highly ergonomic neck knife designed by Alan Folts, an American knife maker from Florida. He specialises in fixed blades with a unique design, great ergonomics and a sleek futuristic design. When you look at the Minimalist you'll immediately notice the handle. The finger grooves provide a comfortable three-finger grip. Your little finger rests on the lanyard to make sure you can control the Minimalist with your entire hand. The spine of the blade is enhanced with jimping for your thumb. These are small grip serrations that give you more control.
Features of the CRKT Minimalist
Different versions
Over the years, the CRKT Minimalist has seen several versions, mostly in terms of blade shape. Among others, the CRKT Minimalist is available in the following blade shapes: bowie, cleaver, drop point, persian, spear point and tanto. With the included sheath, you carry the knife around your neck with the neck cord, or on your belt, with the included belt clip.
CRKT Minimalist handle
The most striking similarity is the design of the handle with its three distinctive finger grooves. Alan Folts designed it as such that you have enough grip over the knife despite the narrow and slim design. In terms of handle material, CRKT and Alan Folts have chosen sturdy materials such as micarta, G10 and polypropylene.
CRKT Minimalist steel types
All CRKT Minimalist knives are made from tough, stainless steels such as 154CM and 5Cr15MoV5. These steels are great for various tasks in or around the house and are also easy to sharpen.
