Casström series

The Swedish Forest Knife No. 10

This is the knife that started it all. This Swedish Forest Knife is the ultimate all-round knife for in the woods. No. 10 refers to the blade length of 10 cm. The curved handle makes the knife feel great in hand even during more challenging cutting tasks.

The Woodsman

The Woodsman is the smaller version of the No. 10, with a straight handle. This knife excels at detailed cutting tasks, as the short blade gives you more control over the tip of the knife. The thickness of the knife is the same as the regular No. 10, so in this case smaller does not equal less strong.

The Lars Fält

This knife is designed by Lars Fält. The blade is longer than the No. 10, allowing you to pull off heavy-duty tasks like batoning a piece of wood. Great for those who don't want to carry an axe wherever they go. There's also a pocket knife version of this knife.

The Safari Mini Hunter

This is Casström's smallest knives. With its flat grind and thin blade, this knife is ideal for skinning game and other food prep tasks.

Casström product types

Bushcraft knives

Casström bushcraft knives are made to be practical and reliable outdoor companions. These knives are made with a full-tang construction, and feature a blade made from Sleipner steel or Sandvik 14C28N. Both these steel types are known for their excellent sharpness retention. Sleipner is a type of carbon steel, so it is not corrosion resistant. Dry the knife after use and apply a coat of oil every once in a while to keep the knife in top condition. Sandvik 14C28N steel is a Swedish steel type that is very corrosion resistant. The scales of this knife are made from oak or birchwood, which can also use a coat of oil. If you're looking for a knife that is more low maintenance, there are also versions with G10 or micarta handles.

Accessories

In addition to knives, Casström's range also includes various outdoor accessories. For example, leather products like belts, pouches or axe protectors. But they also produce saws, firesteels and kuksas.

About Casström

Casström was founded by David Cassini Bäckström, he's from Swedish Lapland. Bäckström was inspired by his youth, when the forest was as much his playground as a natural pantry. That is how his passion for nature and knives as tools first came to be. David started in the knife business by selling Scandinavian knives online, but the challenges and poor results made him consider quitting.

Instead, he decided to design and make his own knife, the Casström No. 10 Swedish Forest Knife, which was well-received by outdoor enthusiasts. This marked the beginning of Casström's success, followed by many other knife models and accessories in the years after that. Nowadays, the company exports their products to 28 countries. David, who still designs for the company, is an expert in the field of knife geometry and steel compositions; he's the scientific force behind Casström's knives.
