The Spyderco Smock is a unique Spyderco knife with a remarkable locking mechanism. The Smock is enhanced with what people call a button-lock. This mechanism is, in terms of function, fairly similar to a compression lock. The difference, however, can be found in the button. It is mounted to the compression-lock and is sticking through the handle. If you want to close the Smock you simply push the button to make sure the compression lock unlocks. As such you don't have to put your fingers in between the handle like with the Paramilitary 2. As a result the Smock can safely be closed without you having to worry about accidentally touching the edge.
