With this Shapton Pro Stone grain 1000 you can sharpen quickly and evenly. This ceramic Japanese sharpening stone has a grain size of 1000. This grain size is ideal as an 'intermediate stone': perfect when sharpening an edge that is already in good shape and at the same time it is a nice step towards polishing. The product fully meets my expectations. The product is necessary to make first step of sharpening. It helps adjust blade angle and removes small indents/chirps quite fast. Product is package is perfect. Protective case can be used as base to lift stone while sharpening the blade. Cases can be easily stacked. Highly recommended.

This is my first stone & I got it as a "lonely" stone for household purposes - sharpening kitchen knives, scissors, etc. I got a cheap one before (5% of this one's price) to see if I like the vibe of sharpening and I have to say learning on a quality stone helps a lot. This stone really has good feedback (you can feel the friction & know when you're making something sharper), it is very durable (wears slowly) and the case that also serves as a base is great to have. This stone meets expectations as a single stone, unless you have damaged blades. I made some leather strops for removing burr & finishing, but even without strops, this stone can put a very sharp edge on anything (with proper deburring).
