The **LionSteel SR22A** is a cool pocket knife made in Maniago, Italy. The design is based on the award-winning LionSteel SR11A. Like its big brother you can recognize the LionSteel SR22A by its integral frame. This means that the handle was milled from one solid block of aluminium. This is an incredibly complicated process that requires a lot of knowledge and experience. LionSteel was one of the first producers who was able to apply this process on a production scale.



You can open the SR22A with the flipper. Because of the ball bearings around the pivot the blade will shoot from the handle. The blade is made from Sleipner. This type of steel might not be that famous, but LionSteel chose this type of steel for a reason. Research demonstrated that Sleipner retains its sharpness even better than M390. Everyone who own a knife made from M390, knows that this is an imposing claim. Do, however, keep corrosion into account. Clean and dry the steel after use and be careful around fruit acids. In terms of corrosion resistance it looks a lot like D2.



When opened a solid framelock will lock the blade. As you might have grown accustomed to it is enhanced with a steel insert. As such the lock will function perfectly for years. Even though the framelock is strong enough, LionSteel added the Rotoblock, just in case. This is a small disc on the side of the handle you can use to secure the framelock. A little more security. You can easily control it with your hand, no tools necessary.



The LionSteel SR22 is an amazing pocket knife for all. A fancy pocket knife, so solidly constructed it is also great for daily use.

Good looking, fancy knife. Flipper could be better, but it works. I think Lion Steel should work on detent in his flippers.

Ziet er mooi uit maar toch helaas niet zo praktisch. Mes is snel bot en loopt zeker in het begin heel erg zwaar en is dan bijna niet te ontgrendelen met 1 hand wat de fidget/fun factor er wel vanaf haalt.

Lijkt op de foto's een flink mes maar in 't echt valt hij heel klein uit. Had er meer van verwacht. Daarnaast vind ik ook dat er beter getest moeten worden door Knives&Tools en dat er betere beschrijvingen moeten komen van messen want ze zijn nu bijna allemaal "geschikt om een appeltje mee te snijden".
