Full description
The KME Gold Series diamond-coated sharpening stone 'the Beast' extremely coarse, 50 grit is the coarsest diamond-coated sharpening stone from the KME range. As the name might already suggest this sharpening stone is indeed a beast. This stone quickly removes material. That is why we only recommend using this stone to reprofile a heavily damaged edge. This sharpening stone is meant for the KME Precision Knife Sharpening System, Diamond Stone Kit, the KME Precision Knife Sharpening System, R.P.S.H. Combo Kit or the KME Axe Sharpener Kit.

This stone and the 100 grit diamond stone from KME are essetial if you want to drastically remove material or reprofile your edge to a new angle. With the standard 140 grit stone it would simply take too much time and would significantly reduce the life of the stone. What I noticed with the "Beast" is that when I sharpen (Note that I haven't used this stone a lot) small yellow pieces/stones/diamonds come loose and fall onto the knife, which might cause scratches when you wipe it off. Overall I would recommend this stone (and also the 100 grit stone).
