The **KA-BAR Fighter 1269** is very large and feels rock-solid. In terms of size this knife falls in between the KA-BAR 1217 and the KA-BAR Big Brother. The Fighter is also enhanced with the design features of both. The handle is enhanced with a knife guard to make sure you will never end up on the razor-sharp edge during heavy-duty use. The handle is made from Kraton. A rubber-like material that offers enough grip regardless of the circumstances. The blade is made from 1095 carbon steel. This steel, however, is not corrosion-resistant. Fortunately the blade is enhanced with a black coating to make sure maintenance is a lot easier.

## KA-BAR 1269: living legend

During the 70 years that the KA-BAR 1269 has been around it became a real living legend. This knife was copied often and many renowned manufacturers produced a version of this model. As such, KA-BAR almost became a generic name for this amazing knife. You should, however, never forget that there is only one original: the KA-BAR 1269, made by KA-BAR in New York.
