The **CRKT M40-03** is a solid pocket knife, designed by the legendary Kit Carson. Famous from, amongst others, the CRKT M16 collection and the M21 collection. The M40 collection is inspired by these popular knives. You can clearly see this when you look at the end result. The addition of the Deadbolt lock, however, is new.

 The Deadbolt lock is one of the strongest lockings mechanisms on the market today. The most important part of the Deadbolt lock is the hardened steel wedge that falls into the cut-outs in the blade. This construction is so strong it can handle quite a lot. It is also incredibly easy to use: you simply press the large pivot and close the blade as such.

 You open the pocket knife with the flipper. It is enhanced with a texture to make sure opening the knife is a piece of cake. Because of the use of IKBS ball bearings this is very easy. The handle is comprised of aluminium bolsters with GRN scales: glass reinforced nylon. Both aluminium and GRN are very light-weight. As such the weight of the M40-03 was kept low. The GRN is enhanced with a chic pattern. As such you have more grip over the knife, and it simply looks great!

Erster Eindruck nach dem Auspacken: Fühlt sich gut an in der Hand, wertig, schönes Gewicht.
Nach dem Öffnen: Schärfe out-of-the Box, seeehr! Hat man auch nicht so oft.
Mein erstes Messer mit diesem Lock. Es läuft knackig, fast etwas viel Reibung, aber das wird sich "einschleifen", denk ich. Der Stop-Pin liegt in eingerasteter Position sehr satt im Liner, was einen sehr stabilen Eindruck vermittelt. Stabiler, als ich es von  anderen Systemen kenne.
Insgesamt also ein Messer, dass seinen Preis wert ist!

Mooi mesje. Gekocht toen deze in de aanbieding was. Daardoor was de prijs aantrekkelijk. Wanneer ik hem vergelijk met de Kershaw 2200 Grid (de helft goedkoper) is hij bijna even lang. Het systeem om het mes te openen werkt soepel. Ontgrendelen via de knop is even wennen. De Kershaw sluit ik met 1 hand. Bij deze even opletten in het begin. Mes was voldoende scherp en vlot geleverd. Maar, voor de prijs van 1 CRKT koop je 2 vergelijkbare Kershaw messen. Succes met keuzes.
