ESEE pocket knives: practical knives for EDC use
ESEE pocket knives were designed with the same goals in mind as the well-known fixed ESEE knives: to be simple and reliable. You probably won't carry a fixed knife with you every day, but with an ESEE pocket knife you can still carry an ESEE knife wherever you go. Perfect for daily use. You don't need to be in the woods to use this knife; simply opening packaging or peeling an apple works perfectly fine.
Features of ESEE pocket knives
Pocket knives from ESEE are designed following the same values as their outdoor knives: these knives are practical without unnecessary frills. A knife should be able to handle everyday cutting tasks, retain a sharp edge and be comfortable to use. ESEE pocket knives are therefore great for EDC use, food prep and all-round small cutting tasks.
ESEE pocket knives: blades
ESEE pocket knives are either made from D2 steel or AUS8 steel. The advantage of D2 steel is that it is a tough type of steel that is easy to sharpen. Perfect for a pocket knife that was made to be used. The only thing you need to take into account is rust: D2 is not entirely stainless. Fortunately you get a lot of toughness and strength in return. AUS8 steel is a user-friendly, stainless type of steel. Incredibly easy to sharpen to razor-sharpness.
ESEE pocket knives: handle materials
Like the blade, the handles of the ESEE pocket knives are available in different handle materials. Micarta, Zytel, nylon, steel or carbon fibre. Of course, the handles are different for each pocket knife, so if you want to know what material the handle is made of, we recommend checking the specifications. The handles are designed to be lightweight and offer a good grip.
ESEE: craftsmanship
The knives by ESEE owe their strong, robust character to ESEE's skilled manufacturing process. Heat treatment is an extremely important step to achieve the final properties of the blade. ESEE knives has truly perfect this process. As a result, you'll have to try very hard if you wanted to break the steel. If you try hard enough, of course any knife can break. ESEE knives are definitely strong enough to handle both heavy-duty use and everyday use.
