This chef's knife is, like any Wüsthof Classic, a combination of a forged knife blade and a handle on black POM. This material is an extremely durable plastic. The handle goes seamlessly into the steel and can is tightly attached with rivets. The material of the handle is totally resistant to anything you encounter in the kitchen.
