Full description
The Eden Elements nakiri is one of the most popular Asian knives. The high and square blade is great for quickly cutting vegetables, fruit and herbs. The high blade allows you to safely guide the blade along your knuckles while chopping. This is, without a doubt, the knife you use to finely cut carrots, cucumber, cabbage and any other types of vegetables.

I bought 2 of them (1 as a gift) and I'm not disappointed at all. Very good fit and finish. Shaving sharp out of the box The main reason I bought it for is the blade geometry, which is excellent for preventing potatoes, cucumbers and tomatoes from sticking to it during cutting. I noticed some gentle splitting/vedging while cutting hard and starchy vegetables (potatoes, sweet potatoes) but that's to be expected since it's not a full flat grind. The handle made in G10 makes the knife significantly iheavier than a traditional japanese nakiri but this design choice seems very intentional as the heavy handle perfectly balances the blade for pinch grip. A few other advantages of G10 over wood iare that G10 is maintenance free, cannot host bacteria and is virtually indestructible.
