The **Viper Basic** is a practical fixed knife, designed for a variety of applications. Use it as a fixed EDC knife, while hiking and camping, while doing odd jobs around the house or even while hunting!

## Blade made of D2 steel
The blade of the Viper Basic 1 VT4028CG, D2 Droppoint Stonewashed, Green Canvas Micarta, fixed knife is made of D2. This is a tool steel that has been used for all kinds of cutting tools since World War II. It is tough, easy to sharpen and retains its sharpness very well. Do take care around moisture and acids; D2 is not entirely stainless. It may discolour or even rust if not properly taken care of. Therefore, it's important to clean and dry the blade after use, and a drop of oil every once in a while can't hurt.



The ‘stonewash’ process was chosen for the finish of this blade. The stonewash process involves the blade being placed inside a drum with ceramic stones, or media, and then vibrated or tumbled for several hours. The result is a finish that looks precisely polished or roughened depending on the version. The advantage of stonewashing, however, is that signs of use are much less noticeable. That makes it a popular choice for knives that see a lot of use.



## Micarta handle

If you look closely, you can see a subtle texture on the surface, sometimes it looks almost like wood. This material is strong and stable, and it's very grippy.
