The **TSPROF Venev diamond-coated double-sided sharpening stone, medium and fine** is a sharpening stone with two different sides. One side has a grain size between 20 and 14 micron and the other side has a grain size between 7 and 5 micron. This is comparable to a J600 and J2000 Japanese sharpening stone.

 ### Russian microns

 No grain on a sharpening stone has the same size. A sharpening stone is comprised of millions of sharpening particles. In the real world these sharpening particles never have the same size. Even if the manufacturer carefully sorts them by size, there will always be a certain range of dimensions. That is why Venev states that the sharpening stone has an average grain size of 20/14 and 7/5 micron.

 ### Diamond concentration

 In this diamond-coated sharpening stone the diamond particles are bound in a binding agent. The diamond concentration of this sharpening stone is 25%. As such this medium/fine sharpening stone leaves you with quick and even results. Despite the thin 1.5 mm sharpening layer you won't quickly need to replace this sharpening stone. The binding agent and the diamond sharpening particles are rock-solid and can handle wear and tear.

 ### Use and maintenance

 The sharpening stones work best if you add some water to the surface. As you use them the sharpening stones can be contaminated with metal particles. Fortunately you can easily remove those with hot water and a sponge.
