**The James Brand Folsom** is a compact and useful pocket knife with an incredibly elegant design. The James Brand makes knives for adventurers, people who actually use their knife. The design of the Folsom is elegant and useful: utilitarian. No unnecessary frills: just a simple workhorse dressed in a tailored suit. You can open the Folsom using the triangular thumb hole which works perfectly with one hand. Open it and the CTS-BD1 steel will show itself. Stainless and American: that is all you need to know. The handle is made from G10, a type of composite material with a perfect weight-strength ratio. As a result the Folsom weighs a perfect 95 grams.


Bright green accents are a part of The James Brand style. As a result it is only fitting that this Folsom has been enhanced with a small tube for the cord ring with the same colour.


However, the elegant James design has not only been applied to the knife itself. Just look at the box it comes in: perfect in all its simplicity. Op het eerste oog is dit een prachtig mes. Op het tweede ook, echter na ontvangst van dit mes kwam ik tot de conclusie dat het een relatief klein mes is. En met een beetje grote handen lijkt het dan ook alsof je een aardappelschilmesje hanteert. Het heft is mijns inziens aan de kleine kant en met die reden heb ik het dan ook geretourneerd. Esthetisch gezien blijft het prachtig, en vind ik het jammer dat het niet 2 cm langer/groter is.
