The **Rick Hinderer Jurassic Spearpoint** is a cool EDC pocket knife, made by Rick Hinderer Knives. In terms of design, the Jurassic is similar to Hinderer's XM18. And yet this knife feels quite different in hand, because the handle is tilted more downward. Other subtle details have been modified. For instance, the flipper is not as 'sharp' as the one on the XM18 and the blade length is approx. 3.25”, while with the XM18 you need to choose between 3” and 3.5”. The Rick Hinderer Jurassic is too big to be a small knife, and too small to be a big knife. It's a nice medium-sized knife.

The slicer blade is made from CPM 20CV steel. This is a premium powder steel, which means it has a very fine structure. As a result, it retains its sharpness for a very long time. 20CV is also corrosion resistant.

You easily open the Rick Hinderer Jurassic with the (double) thumb studs, or with the flipper. This is the newest generation, with the Tri-Way pivot system. The knife is enhanced with ball bearings but you also receive bronze and teflon washers to make sure you can decide which bearings system you prefer. There is also a steel lockbar insert which makes the lock even more durable.

When opened, a solid frame lock ensures that the blade stays in place. A distinctive Hinderer feature is the lockbar stabiliser, This is a round disc on the side of the titanium handle. It ensures that you can't overstretch the lock. The titanium pocket clip allows you to always keep the Jurassic close at hand. This tip-down pocket clip is mounted to the right side, but with the philips screwdriver you can easily turn it into a tip-up pocket clip.

The Rick Hinderer philosophy is as follows: a knife is a tool that should work for you, never the other way around. That's why Hinderer knives are made to be used. This Jurassic is the perfect example of this philosophy.
