The **Rick Hinderer Jurassic Slicer** is a cool EDC pocket knife, made by Rick Hinderer Knives. The Jurassic is in terms of design similar to Hinderer's XM18. And yet this knife still feels different in hand. The handle is tilted more downward. In addition, subtle details were altered. The flipper, for instance, is not as 'sharp' as the one on the XM18 and the blade length is approx. 3.25", while with the XM18 you need to choose between 3 and 3.5". The Rick Hinderer Jurassic is too big to be a small knife, and too small to be a big knife. A nice medium-sized knife.

 The slicer blade is made from CPM 20CV steel. A premium type of powdered steel, which means that the structure of the steel is very fine. As such it stays sharp for a very long time. 20CV is also corrosion resistant.

 You easily open the Rick Hinderer Jurassic with the (double) thumb studs, or with the flipper. This is the newest generation of Half Tracks with the Tri-Way-Pivot-system. The knife is enhanced with ball bearings but you also receive bronze and teflon washers to make sure you can decide which bearings system you prefer. There is also a steel lockbar insert which makes the lock even more durable.

 When opened, a solid frame lock ensures that the blade stays in place. A characterizing detail is the lockbar stabilizer. This is a round disc on the side of the titanium handle. It ensures that you cannot overstretch the lock. With the titanium pocket clip you can always keep the Jurassic close. This tip-down is mounted on the right side, but with a Phillips-head screwdriver you can easily turn it into a tip-up.

 The Rick Hinderer philosophy is: a knife is a tool that should work for you, never the other way around. That's why Hinderer knives are made to be used. This Jurassic is the perfect example.
