The **Reate Augustus** is a top-quality pocket knife made from premium materials. The Augustus was designed by Kirby Lambert, a world-famous knife maker. Kirby Lambert produces unique and stunning hand-made knives with the most exotic materials. His hand-made knives are therefore very popular in the knife world and, as such, incredibly difficult to obtain. Thanks to this cooperation with Reate Knives his work is now also available to a wider audience.

 The blade of the Reate Augustus has a very interesting shape. A tanto-shape, with a recurve edge and a royal swedge on the spine. The blade is enhanced with a thin hollow grind. Remarkable about Reate's hollow grinds is that they are applied by hand with the help of a grinding machine. This is incredibly labour-intensive and requires quite a lot of skill. As such you often only see this on valuable custom knives. The fact that Reate does this on a production knife is therefore quite unheard of. Especially considering the relatively favourable price.

 The blade is made from Böhler M390 steel. A stainless powdered type of steel, made in Austria. This type of steel is praised because of its retains its sharpness well and because it is corrosion resistant. The blade is enhanced with a satin finish which gives the knife a chic look and feel. You can easily open the Augustus with the flipper mechanism. Reate added subtle ridges to the flipper to make sure your finger won't slide off when you open it. The Augustus is enhanced with ceramic ball bearings to make sure the blade moves easily within the handle. The detent that keeps the blade in the handle while closed is perfectly adjusted. Enough to easily use the flipper, soft enough to not wear out your finger.

 The handle is almost completely made from titanium. This makes the Augustus incredibly light-weight. The pivot is blue and has a gold-coloured anodized finish enhanced with dots. Even though the price might suggest that this knife belongs in a display case, it is definitely made to be used. The handle is enhanced with large finger grooves for enough grip and to make sure the handle won't slip from your hand. The pocket clip that was milled from one piece of titanium ensures that you can easily carry this knife in your pocket.

 Despite its size the Reate Augustus is definitely a gentleman's knife. The chic look and feel turns this knife into the real highlight of every knife collection! With the Augustus Reate once again demonstrates that they are one of the best knife makers in the world when it comes to producing top-quality pocket knives. The Reate Augustus comes in a luxurious storage case. In it you will find an additional bag with two steel rings and some extra screws. If you ever damage one of the screws, you will already own a couple of spares. Very user-friendly!
