The **Maserin Gourmet** is a light-weight and slim gentleman's knife, designed as a foldable steak knife. You might be familiar with it: great restaurant, good steak, but disastrous knives. With the Maserin Gourmet you will always have the right knife close to cut your steak. Designer Attilio Morotti combined typical Italian lines with stunning materials for the Gourmet knives. The handle, for instance, is made from stunning dark root wood. Special is also that the backspacer (the part in between the handle) is made from this type of wood.

 The blade on the Maserin Gourmet is made from German 4116 steel. A stainless type of steel that retains its sharpness well and is easy to sharpen. You open the blade with one hand with the front flipper, or simply with two hands. The front flipper is the small piece of steel that sticks out of the handle when the knife is closed. You control it with your thumb or index finger, even though this might take some getting used to at first. When opened the blade is locked by a linerlock. The blade is enhanced with teflon washers, perfect because they also work well dry (without oil). So if dirt would come in between the blade and the handle you can carefully rinse it out underneath the tap. Do properly dry it afterwards! And preferably use a couple drops of oil. This pocket knife is made for your steak and a potential envelope, not for heavy use. Maserin makes a lot of other stunning knives for that purpose.

 The Maserin Gourmet comes with a simple leather case.

 Maserin produces great knives for very good price. Real craftsmanship and you can definitely see traces of that on occasion. It is part of the charm of this stunning pocket knife.
