The **CRKT M16-04S Classic** is a pocket knife designed by Kit Carson. This American designer used to be a soldier and unfortunately passed away in 2014. He was known for designing very solid and functional pocket knives. You can clearly see this design style in this pocket knife. The M16-04S Classic pocket knife uses a InterFrame construction with stunning 6061 aluminium scales. The result is an incredibly strong handle that feels great in hand. The razor-sharp tanto blade is made from stainless Japanese AUS8 steel. This type of steel is easy to sharpen.

Unique about this pocket knife is the AutoLAWKS safety system. It is basically a double lock making it almost impossible to accidentally close the blade. You can easily open the Carson with the help of the flipper. This flipper also protects your fingers after opening the blade. The practical pocket clip can be worn left and right and tip-down and tip-up. As such the CRKT M16-04S Classic is perfect for daily use.

Wat een mes!! 
Zoals ergens anders al beschreven, was ik op zoek naar een solide werkmes. De zoektocht naar dat stuk gereedschap was gewonnen door een Extrema Ratio MF 1. De andere kandidaat was dit mes van CRKT. Ik vond dit mes er zo goed uitzien, dat ik deze ook maar besteld heb. Ook door dit mes werd ik positief verrast, maar dan voor een derde van de prijs! Hoe kunnen ze het maken voor dit geld. Het is een mooi groot mes met een fantischtisch ogend lemmet. Gemaakt van goed materiaal. Omdat ik meestal messen koop met kwalitatief beter staal, moet ik nog afwachten hoe AUS8 stand houdt, maar ik heb er alle vertrouwen in. Goeie aankoop en waarschijnlijk niet mijn laatste CRKT.
Goeie website van KATO. Vooral de standaard serie fotos is een goede hulp bij digitaal vergelijken van messen.
