The **Case Barlow** is a traditional pocket knife in classic Barlow pattern. This particular variant has two blades: a 6.2 cm clippoint, and a 5.2 cm penknife. Both blades have their own slipjoint spring.



You open the Case Knives with two hands. To make this easier, there's a nail nick which gives you a little extra grip using your fingernail. This pocket knife is not equipped with a full lock, only with a slipjoint mechanism. This provides some resistance to prevent the knife from snapping shut during normal use. However, if you press on the spine of the blade, the knife will shut.



## Case Tru-Sharp SS steel
The blade is made of Case Tru-Sharp SS. This is a stainless steel that is actually the same as 420HC steel. This steel allows for fast sharpening, making it easy to maintain a sharp edge.



The blade has been polished, this is a premium blade finish that leaves no room for error. A polished blade ensures minimal friction while cutting, making the knife cut like a dream.



## Handle made from bone

The handle of this Case Knives Bonestag 6.5 is made from bone. Typically, cow bone is used for this purpose. Manufacturers often give this material an interesting colour and texture. It is a material that has been used for knife handles and other tools for a very long time.



## Traditional: the Barlow pattern
Barlow knives are perhaps the oldest pocket knife model still being made. As early as the 17th century, people made Barlow knives. These were the cheapest knives on the market. The simple shape of the handle made a Barlow easy to grind on a sanding wheel. Much easier than a Stockman or Trapper. Barlows come with one or two blades and a characteristic feature is the extended bolster. This usually covers 1/3rd of the handle.
