The **Bark River Kalahari Bushman** is a fine, compact hunting knife. Its large blade height stands out, especially in comparison with the slim handle. The Kalahari Bushman is great when gutting small and average-sized game. But also when you go camping it can be used for the lighter tasks. Cutting feathersticks, splitting kindling and food prep are all child's play with the Bark River Kalahari Bushman.


The blade is made from A2 tool steel. A strong type of steel that would rather bend than break. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: A2 is not completely stainless. So clean it after use and occasionally add a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).



The handle is made from canvas micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold circumstances.



The Bark River Kalahari Bushman comes with a leather belt sheath. You can carry it both straight (belt width up to 5.5 cm) and diagonally (belt width up to 6.0 cm). The sheath also has a loop for a firesteel (max. diameter ~7.0 mm).



Bark River makes all of its knives almost completely by hand. As such each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.

Gebruikt voor het villen van gevogelte en andere kleine taken.
Dit mes voldoet exact aan mijn verwachtingen. De grootte van het lemmet is perfect, de dikte ervan is prima. De scherpte is na een aantal malen gebruikt te hebben nog  steeds onveranderd scherp.
Het handvat is voor mij wat krap. Het mes 'stuurt' uitstekend. 
Deze Bark River is een favoriet geworden.
