EDC pry bars: an essential part of your EDC gear

EDC prybars, or crowbars, are essential for any knife fan. Why? With a pry bar you can do things you wouldn't want to do with your knife, like prying open hard packages, tightening a screw, or our personal favourite, opening a beer. Using a pry bar instead of your knife will prevent your knife from being damaged. Besides the fact that a pry bar simply looks cool, you're often allowed to carry one in places where you wouldn't take your knife.

Different kinds of pry bar

Many pry bars are equipped with additional tools. Like a nail puller, for example. Bottle openers and screwdrivers are also common. To make it easier to carry, a pocket clip is also sometimes included. In this way, a pry bar actually becomes a very handy multi-tool to always carry with you.

How to choose the best pry bar

Pry bars are available in many shapes, sizes and materials. A commonly used material is titanium, it's super strong, tough and lightweight. At the same time, titanium is not the cheapest material out there. It's more commonly seen on premium options.

A more affordable option is steel. This can be stainless steel, carbon steel or even damascus steel. The first two are generally more affordable than titanium. A damascus pry bar, on the other hand, tends to be more costly. Truly a luxury product.

Additionally, it is useful to consider the size. Are you looking for a short, 6 cm version to attach to your bunch of keys? Or rather a 10 cm version, which gives you more lifting power? The possibilities are endless.
