Has your endless search for the right chef's knife become dull?

This **Wüsthof Classic chef's knife** is similar to the
'regular' Wüsthof Classic chef's knife 20 cm. The main difference
can be found in the height of the blade. For this chef's knife the blade is
extra high. This is great when you quickly need to cut
large amounts of food. Your finger tips are pointed inwards
to make sure only your knuckles can come into contact
with the blade of the knife. With it you namely determine the pace and
it also means that it becomes impossible
to cut yourself (as long as you make sure the knife remains straight).

## Wüsthof Classic blade: razor-sharp stainless steel


The blade made from chromium-vanadium steel (X50CrMoV15) is forged from one solid piece of steel. It is sharpened according to Wüsthof’s PEtec technology. This means that for each blade a sharpening angle is determined with the help of a computer. Afterwards it is precisely sharpened on a wet sharpening stone. After thorough inspection each knife leaves the production line, ready for a life of intensive use.


Wüsthof processes the steel in a specific way to make sure it has a high hardness of 58 Rockwell. As such the knife retains its sharpness for a really long time. However, if you notice that the knife is not as sharp as it used to be, all you have to do is move it over a honing steel. The result is a razor-sharp knife that is amazing to use.


## Wüsthof Classic handle: sustainable and hygienic


This knife is a combination of a forged blade and an ergonomic handle made from black POM, a very sustainable type of plastic. The handle can withstand all substances you find in the kitchen. The handle was traditionally and seamlessly riveted to the blade with three rivets. As such dirt can never accumulate in between the blade and the handle. The crop protects your fingers from unnecessary contact with the edge. What more could you possibly ask for?


## Wüsthof Classic: the classic Wüsthof collection


The Classic is the most extensive Wüsthof collection on the market today. It is comprised of over 80 different kitchen knives, amongst which different sizes of chef’s knives, bread knives and carving knives. Because this collection has the most versions of all possible knives, you can easily comprise your own perfect knife set. My incredibly particular husband requested an all purpose kitchen knife for Christmas. I took a risk choosing one for him, but he was most delighted with this one. He said it was perfect! Very pleased with service and quality.

It's the definitive chef's knife. If you only have one, this should be it.
Good heavy spine, sturdy at the heel, slim at the tip and nicely balanced.
The bolster isn't for everyone, I understand but it's a classic design intended for cracking bones & I've never once felt compromised by it when sharpening or in use.
Value for money is exactly right, this is a knife for life.
