An excellent sharpening device. I’m able to use it and get very sharp edges on all my knives from pocket knives to my kitchen knives. Marked down on value as the leather strop to replace is £17. But this would not stop me buying this again.

For someone that never sharpened before, I've been able to put my knives shaving sharp, and with a mirrors edge. Couldn't be more happy with it.

I had been looking at a number of sharpening products for a while looking to get something I can maintain my knives with other than the usual pull through sharpeners out there. After doing some research and having come across the worksharp system, my overall impression was how straightforward it seemed And so after a number if YouTube videos and reviews I was set. And since I have sharpened a number of my own pocket knives A couple kitchen knives And one of my brothers heavier set bushcraft knives I can't be happier with how great this product is. Works great Easy to learn And very counter intuitive. Definetly a recommended system

En líneas generales muy buen producto, la “valijita” en donde viene el afilador es muy útil no solo para transportarlo, sino también para guardarlo y protegerlo. Es muy fácil de utilizar (y hasta donde entiendo de comprar los distintos componentes por separado). Las “piedras” de diamante y cerámica son de muy buena calidad y me gustan los “saltos” que hay entre los distintos grosores de los abrasivos. Las únicas cosas que hay que tener en cuenta a la hora de comprar según mi opinión son: si bien se consigue muy fácilmente un muy buen filo, hay una curva de aprendizaje para lograr un filo pulido a espejo (todavía no he dominado la técnica con este afilador y depende mucho del tipo de acero). Los cuchillos muy grandes o muy pequeños son difíciles de afilar o directamente incompatibles, ya que el rango de movimiento es limitado para los grandes, y para los pequeños la piedra toca la agarradera en vez del filo. Finalmente, la agarradera tiene un poco de juego vertical a la hora de afilar y el afilador de filo serrado es muy pequeño. En conclusión deja muy buenos filos en relativamente poco tiempo, con una curva de aprendizaje rápida con un bajísimo riesgo de arruinar el filo.

Best VFM in terms of sharpening knives. First of all it isa very easy. Second, now that i have this i feel safer actually using my knives, when before i was very cautious as i was using traditional wet stones. Sharpening is fast and alsways the knife comes out razor sharp. I would upgrade to the ken onion elite just to have the ability to sharpen faster and more types of blades such as axes, but for starters this is the best value product.

This is a great “beginner” sharpener for those learning how to sharpen. Comes with all the basics you need. Great quality and easy to use. My only issue is that it moves up and down whilst sharpening. You can buy aftermarket wedges to stop this but you really shouldn’t have to. It does the basics very well but I would not recommend for professional use or to get a perfect edge.

It's a fantastic sharpener, although you have to squeeze the clamp to an unbelievable strength to stop the knife from moving but it's really good. In saying that I'm very strong so others might not be able to squeeze such a tightness. I sharpened both a kitchen chopping knife which I got crazy sharp, that was fantastic, the same can't be said about my favourite knife the swiss army knife, you have to squeeze it at the very bare spine of the blade to sharpen them to my desired 18°. And to a crazy tightness so it won't move but its possible to do it with gentle strokes, I had started to wear the actual knife holding clamp so I had to move it to the very back of knife blade then it was OK. There isn't a hope of going below 18° with small blades with this sharpener, because you'll start rubbing the clamp instead. Bigger blades should be fine though with proper tightness but you shouldn't press to hard, let the stones do the work for you. Overall I'm happy with it but I feel as my smaller blades are wearing it will become impossible to sharpen because you will be gringing the clamp..
