Wasn't too sure about this as the price seemed high but after seeing a few reviews I thought I'd give it a go. Glad I did as this is a wonderful little knife. Very sharp right out of the box, compact and looks nice too. It's quite heavy for its size but that's reflected in its construction which feels robust and reliable. The only minor downside is that the locking mechanism, while much better than the usual liner lock types that involve bending a piece of the frame to one side, requires too much pressure to be able to safely close the blade with one hand. Overall, brilliant. Now I'm a fan of Spyderco too.

This is my first SpyderCo knife; for some reason, I never liked their design but the UpTern caught my eye and I gave it a shot. It is sleek and elegant due to the full SS construction and it easily became my most carried pocket knife. The size is just right and quite comfortable, comes with a sharp factory edge. I wish they issued it with a better blade steel. The pocket clip is a little bit on the large side and is snug as hell.
