The **Nitecore EDC33** is an extremely powerful EDC torch. Only very rarely do you see a torch that is only 11.5 cm long, yet offers 4000 lumens of brightness! Nitecore developed this torch for everyday use, so you can easily carry it in your pocket, and use it whenever you need it.

With this purpose in mind, Nitecore added some important features. For example, the lock-out function which makes sure the light won't accidentally turn on. Nitecore has made sure that you can also use the torch well for self-defence. At the press of a button, you have 4000 lumens of LUMINSHIELD at your disposal which can be used to completely overwhelm someone in case of an emergency. The torch has the following light modes:

A strong battery is required to guarantee this extreme light output. That is why Nitecore came up with a novelty: this torch comes with a 18650 battery that has a capacity of up to 4000mAh! That's 400mAh more than the heaviest we've seen from an 18650 so far. This ensures this torch is a compact little powerhouse.

Light output is provided by 1 central LED, surrounded by 8 smaller LEDs. In normal circumstances, you only use the central LED, the so-called SEARCH mode. The additional LEDs come into play with the other light modes.

To prevent the torch from overheating due to the large amount of energy it emits, a sensor was added. This detects whether you are getting too close to an object that could cause the torch to overheat. Does the smart sensor detect that this is the case? Then it switches off automatically to prevent damage.

The torch comes with a handy pocket clip and a wrist strap, so you won't lose it. Recharge it using the included USB-C cable.

Krachtig zaklampje.
Moeilijk schakelen tussen de verschillende standen.

Prima lamp met veel licht. Drukknop was even wennen maar verder ok

Mooie lamp, degelijke uitvoering.
MAAR: schakelen tussen "continu branden" en "alleen branden als de knop ingedrukt blijft" gaat heel moeilijk.
Ik stuur deze zaklamp retour.

Prachtige zaklamp, geeft een enorme hoeveelheid licht.
Voelt degelijk aan, een handig ‘lock’ systeem zorgt ervoor dat je lamp niet per ongeluk inschakelt.
Met een draaimechanisme tover je de laadaansluiting tevoorschijn. 
Ik heb een paar Fenox zaklampen gehad , die hebben ( mijns inziens ) een ietwat makkelijkere bediening, maar qua degelijkheid zou ik zo weer deze kopen. 
Conclusie : meer dan tevreden én door Knives and Tools weer heel snel opgestuurd, chapeau !!

**Review: Nightcore EDC33 Zaklamp**

Als dagelijkse gebruiker van de Olight Warrior Mini 2 was ik op zoek naar een zaklamp die net iets verder kon schijnen voor mijn werk, en dat is precies waarom ik bij de Nightcore EDC33 uitkwam. Deze lamp heeft een iets gebundeldere straal, waardoor hij perfect is voor lange afstanden. In de zoekmodus kan ik moeiteloos tot wel 200 meter ver kijken, wat precies de afstand is die ik nodig heb. 

Qua formaat is hij vergelijkbaar met de Warrior Mini 2, wat fijn is, omdat hij gemakkelijk in mijn hand ligt en compact genoeg is om dagelijks mee te nemen. Hoewel ik het gevoel heb dat de Warrior Mini 2 iets beter gebouwd is dan de EDC33, is het verschil minimaal en merk je er in de praktijk weinig van.

De batterijduur van de EDC33 is prima, en hoewel de ingebouwde batterij niet vervangbaar is, vind ik het handig dat hij via USB oplaadbaar is. Dit maakt het opladen eenvoudig en snel. Een kleine suggestie voor verbetering zou zijn om de lamp in andere kleuren beschikbaar te maken. Een zwarte zaklamp vind je namelijk minder snel terug in een tas. Kleuren zoals bruin, groen, grijs of zelfs wit zouden praktischer zijn, omdat ze beter opvallen.

Wat me verder aangenaam verraste, is de prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding. Voor de hoeveelheid licht die de lamp produceert – een indrukwekkende 5000 lumen – is de prijs zeer voordelig. De output is ongelooflijk, zeker als je bedenkt dat ik er niet eens heel veel aandacht aan had besteed toen ik hem kocht.

Al met al is de Nightcore EDC33 een geweldige lamp met krachtige prestaties en een goede prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding. Ik gebruik hem nu bijna elke dag en ben zeer blij met mijn aankoop. Het is zeker een aanrader voor iedereen die op zoek is naar een betrouwbare zaklamp met een sterke lichtbundel.
