When the product arrived the lid fit loosely on the casserole, and didn't form a seal. I have one of these already where the lid fits perfectly. The company said that all their stock was like this, so I returned it for a refund. I don't expect Le Creuset products to be badly made - I don't know if it was a faulty batch (they were being sold a lot cheaper than other companies). Communication from the company was very good on the matter.

Just to show what I think of this product, this is the second one I've bought, not to replace the one I already have but as a gift for my Son and Daughter-in-law. Although on initial viewing Le Creuset equipment looks pricey believe me it's worth every penny. I have the complete set of TNS pots and pans and can definitely recommend them. They cook superbly and are easy to clean and if you follow the instructions on care they will definitely last the lifetime gaurantee offered by Le Ceuset. Peter.

This is the best pan we have ever owned and used, even better than our previous "do it all" pan from Aga. We were a bit sceptical about the lack of proper handle, but find it's not a problem on the hob or hotplate, and helps us in the oven by being a little smaller, so we can easily have two pans in the Aga at once. Washes and wipes down a treat, seems to be a very durable finish, after one month's regular use, and isa firm favourite in our kitchen. Priced very competitively compared to online auction sites, and will evidently last for years, so making it even better value for money!
