This **Kai Wasabi Black chef's knife** is a stunning Japanese chef's knife for a great price. The chef's knife is a real all-rounder. ## Chef's knife from the Kai Wasabi collection

Kai is known for its high-quality Kai Shun kitchen knives. With this Kai Wasabi collection, this high quality is now also available for a more affordable price. The stainless steel blade made from Daido 1K6 steel has a thin grind and is hardened to a hardness of 58 HRC. Because the knife doesn't have a crop you can use the entire edge. This also makes it easier to sharpen. The handle is made of a combination of bamboo powder and polypropylene. This makes the handle sustainable and waterproof.

Really nice knife for the price. Has good feel and is sharp and well made. The handle doesn't feel as good as a wooden handle but feels strong. Good enough for professional cooking. Not as good as a shun.

I use this knife every day and it more than meets my expectations of a quality chef's knife. It features in many of my cookery videos. It is beautifully balanced and holds a good sharp edge. Its tough stainless blade has the perfect balance of flexibility and hardness, while being easy to clean and maintain.

I can also highly recommend the laser etching service, which produces a crystal clear design on the blade. Laser etched knives make excellent personal or professional gifts.
