The **Fenix PD35R rechargeable flashlight** is the new-and-improved version of the popular Fenix UC35 V2.0 flashlight. With an increased light output of 1700 lumens and a beam range of 357 metres. It is compact, incredibly strong and has 6 different light modes. This flashlight works best on a 18650 Li-ion battery (included), but also does very well on 2 CR123A batteries. Including the battery, this flashlight weighs 140 g.

## Versatility

If there is one light you can call versatile, it is the Fenix PD35R. It is small enough to easily take with you and has enough light and light modes to be practical in most circumstances. For the new and improved PD35R, the lowest mode has only 10 lumens. That is enough to see in the dark and maintain your night vision. 

## Battery indicator

As with the UC35 2.0, the side switch is made of metal, making it wear-resistant. In addition, the switch will tell you more about the charging mode of the battery. Every time you turn the light on the battery indicator will give you the current status of the 18650 batteries. Constant green light = fully charged, flashing green light = sufficient, constant red light = almost empty and flashing red light = crucial. This function only works with a rechargeable 18650 battery.

## Prevent a too deeply discharged battery

Are you not using your flashlight for a while? Always make sure to unscrew the tail cap a little bit. This prevents your battery from becoming too deeply discharged. In fact, even when the light is off, it still draws some power from the battery. A battery that is too deeply discharged often cannot be recharged. That would be a shame!

## Light modes for the Fenix PD35R

  * Eco: 10 lumens, burn time of approx. 100 hours*
  * Low: 50 lumens, burn time of approx. 38 hours
  * Mid: 350 lumens, burn time of approx. 4 hours and 45 minutes
  * High: 1000 lumens, burn time of approx. 2 hours and 55 minutes
  * Turbo: 1700 lumens, burn time of approx. 2 hours and 15 minutes
  * Strobe: 1700 lumens

The burn time of the highest light mode is calculated at the moment the lamp is switched on in the highest position. After 2-3 minutes, the light automatically switches to a lower mode due to the temperature regulation.

Bought after a lot or research and have not been disappointed - in fact, it's probably more torch than I'll need!
I can't speak to the battery life or longevity of the product but initial use has shown then light to be super bright and I would estimate the throw is easily achieving the manufactures specs.
The only niggle I have is the mode-switch can be accidentally pressed when turning the torch on or off. Design flaw, or handling error? I'm leaning towards the latter. I was between this or the PD35 v3 but ultimately went for this as the 35 needs to be turned on with tail switch before using the switch on the body and IIRC this one is marginally more performant.
Fit and finish of the product is brilliant and I'm sure it'll last me a longtime.
I bought this torch for just under £100 (incl. postage) from K&T at a time when Amazon were selling for just over £90 but opted to support K&T because of the amazing customer service I have received on other items.

De Fenix PD35R presteert boven verwachting. 
Niet helemaal een verassing, want mijn keuze is mede het gevolg van grondig onderzoek in de vorm van een waslijst aan schriftelijke reviews en talloze filmpjes op YouTube. Meteen haast ik hier aan toe te voegen, dat de ene reviewer de ander niet is. Fenix biedt in mijn ogen ongekende kwaliteit. Hoewel je over sommige hoedanigheden kunt discussiëren, zie ik wel degelijk dat tijd en techniek bij Fenix niet hebben stil gestaan. 

Overigens, een issue wat ik onlangs had met een product, is door de klantenservice van Knives and Tools helemaal naar volle tevredenheid opgelost. 

Mooie compacte zaklamp met hele felle lamp. Maar ook mogelijk om in de laagste stand te gebruiken als leeslamp.

Fijne handzame zaklamp met enorme lichtopbrengst, eenvoudig in gebruik en gemakkelijk mee te nemen.
