The **Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter** is a stunning and solid pocket knife. The knife is designed by knife maker Andrew Demko and looks a lot like his own custom knives.

 As we have grown accustomed to from Cold Steel this knife has been enhanced with the rock-solid Tri-Ad lock. A lock that is impossible to move. This locking mechanism is praised as one of the best by many knife collectors. The blade is made from S35VN steel and the handle is made from G10 for sublime ergonomics. As such the Ultimate Hunter feels amazing in hand and is incredibly comfortable to use.

 The Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter comes with an additional pocket clip to make sure left-handed users can also easily use this pocket knife.

Très bon couteau, un peu cher,mais il faut pas oublier qu'il y a un tri-ad lock, qui donne confiance dès qu'on sort la lame.

Best folding knife ever. And best service

Ein etwas langweiliges aber sehr funktionales reinrassiges Arbeitsmesser; kein Messer zum Spielen vor dem Fernseher und auch kein taktisches. Es wirkt für ein Messer von Cold Steel, von der leider wie meistens zu auffälligen, geätzten Beschriftung abgesehen, geradezu schlicht, zahm und "sozialverträglich". Die kurze, robuste Klinge ist sehr führig, hat für ein grobes Messer eine gute Geometrie und ist aber trotzdem vertrauenserweckend was seine Stabilität angeht; verjüngt sich erst spät zur hin Spitze. Fast ein bisschen einladend damit zu hebeln. Die Dicke hinter der Schneide beträgt überall, in Relation zur restlichen Robustheit, schneidfreudige 0,8mm. Schärfe ab Werk war gut, eher bissig, rasierte aber gut Armhaare. Da der Übergang von der Schneide zum Ricasso/zur Klingenwurzel ohne eine Stufe (in der das Schnittgut "einrasten" könnte)  verläuft, hat das Fehlen einer Schleifkerbe hier keine Vorteile (außer theoretisch minimal mehr Stabilität)! Ich habe dem Messer sofort eine kleine Schleifkerbe verpasst; der S35VN-Stahl lässt das von einer Diamantfeile gern mit sich machen. Der Übergang Klingenwurzel/Ricasso zur Primärfase ist sehr hart/scharf gestaltet. Das wird für die Stabilität keine entscheidende Rolle spielen aber unschön ist es bei einem sonst so robust wirkendem Messer leider schon.
Der Rücken ist aussreichen scharf und hat genug wenn auch nicht viel Auflagefläche um damit zu schaben zu können.
Das Messer lässt sich mit dem Daumen (bzw. Daumennagel wenn es wirklich schwungvoll sein soll) "aufschnippen" allerdings ist dazu die Unterschützung des Handgelenks/Armes zu empfehlen. Das Triadlock schließt mit einem befriedigenden satten Klacken. Das Messer lässt sich auch relativ leicht ohne Benutzung des Daumenpins aus dem Handgelenk aufschleudern. Da der Daumenpin etwas lästig zu treffen/halten ist wenn man das Messer mit dem Nagel aufschnippen will weil er ziemlich glatt und rund ist, ist das unter Umständen sogar die angenehmere Öffnungsmethode. Langsam, mit dem Daumenballen, lässt ich die Klinge gut ausklappen; wenn man hier auch, vorallem mit Handschuhen, etwas Grip vermisst.
Will man das Messer ohne das lautes Klacken öffnen (z.B. um Tiere oder auch Menschen nicht zu verschrecken) braucht man entweder beide Hände oder die Hilfe einer Oberfläche wie z.B. des Oberschenkels um die Klinge auszuklappen während man mit dem Daumen die Rückenfeder betätigt  
Die Rückenfeder ist zwar kräftig aber alles sehr leichtgängig; der Detent angenhem. Die Klinge lässt sich deshalb leicht mit einer Hand wieder einklappen, allerdings darf man wie bei Messern mit Backlock/Triadlock üblich nicht vergessen, den Zeigefinger ganz vorne am Fingerschutz liegen zu lassen um sich nicht die Schneide auf den Fingerrücken zu schlagen. Das ist ohne Verrenkungen leicht gemacht und schnell verinnerlicht.
Der Griff ist für Handschuhgröße 9, 10 super; er könnte manchen aber etwas zu schlank/schmal sein. Dafür trägt das Messer in der Hosentasche nicht zu dick auf. Das G10 könnte ruhig etwas rauer sein auch wenn die Hosentaschen einem danken, dass es nicht so ist. Dass der Griff keine Stahlliner hat gefällt mir nicht wenn er auch sicher stabil genug ist. Beim Fingerschutz allerdings, der an der Spitze eine Materialstärke von nur mehr 1,7mm hat könnte es zu Abnutzungserscheinungen kommen wenn man das Messer fallen lässt oder grob gegen eine scharfe Kante stößt. 
Die T6-Schrauben wirken zu klein und man muss z.B. wohl auch aufpassen, dass sie sauber sind wenn man sie öffnen möchte um nicht zu riskieren, sie zu beschädigen.
Der Pocketclip ist ziemlich kurz; stark genug um das Messer sicher in der Tasche zu halten; ganz und bei allen Bewegungen/Körperhaltungen vertraue ich ihm aber nicht.
Insgesamt nichts Aufregendes aber doch das Messer zu dem ich greifen werde wenn es wirklich etwas zu tun gibt, ich kein feststehendes Messer dabei haben kann/will und mich nicht mit einem günstigen "Beater" zufrieden geben will.

Mes opnieuw gekocht omdat mijn vorige gestolen is op werk. Mes is prima mes, goed scherp geleverd, Gebruik hem op werk, maar ook op vakantie gaat die altijd mee. Het is wel een redelijk groot mes, fijn voor mensen (zoals ik) met grote handen, maar je stopt hem niet in je binnenzak om een appeltje mee te schillen (vinden agenten denk ik ook niet grappig). Levering was zoals altijd super snel, wat dat betreft ook een dikke 10 voor knives en tools!!!
