This **Zwilling Twin 1731 honing steel** is different from other honing steels. Compared to regular honing steels this version is namely enhanced with a small amount of ceramics. As such this steel can remove a little material. This also means that this tool is more of a combination between a honing and a sharpening steel.


The honing steel is made from tungsten carbide: a hard metal with ceramic components. Due to the hardness and the fine grain all steel knives can be honed without damaging them.


## Design


While most common honing steels are practical tools, that look like every other honing steel, this is not the case for this Zwilling honing steel. You can proudly add this honing steel to your knife block: the design is completely the same as the the stunning kitchen knives from this Twin 1731 collection. The Zwilling logo, for instance, is added to the bolster. But especially the handle stands out. It is made from untreated, oiled ebony wood and gives the honing steel its natural and fancy look and feel.

Obwohl ich erst kritisch war wegen des hohen Preises und der Bewertung einiger anderer Testergebnisse, so kann ich doch sagen, erfüllt dieser Wetzstahl meine Vorstellungen von einem Solchen zu absolut.
Ich kann mir die anderen weniger guten Testergebnisses nur  auf Grund der Preis/Nutzen Relation vorstellen. 
An dem Produkt selber, also ich muss sagen, absolut zufrieden. Drei, vier Zentimeter länger wären vielleicht das Non Plus Ultra, aber bei weitem nicht notwendig.
Zum Wetzstahl selbst: Er liegt angenehm Wertig in Form und Gewicht in der Hand, zieht nach meinem dafürhalten feiner Ab als der Dickoron Titan und ist definitiv für harte und hochwertige Messer-stähle gedacht. Für mich ist es der ideale Stahl, der einem Keramikstab in nichts nachsteht.
Er erhält die Schärfe bei regelmäßiger Anwendung richtig gut, so das ein Abziehen zumindest für harte Messer-stähle auf Leder und Paste nicht mehr erforderlich für den Küchenbedarf ist. Wer es mag kann dies noch tun, aber im Alltag ist dies müßig.
Der hohe Preis wird sich wohl in der Lebensdauer wiederspiegeln, die Verarbeitung ist eine perfekte Symbiose aus Stahl und echtem edlen Holz. Sehr schön anzusehen und kein Grad, kein Überstand ist zu fühlen, als sein das ganze gute Stück aus einem Rohling geschliffen.
Kaufempfehlung von mir. Bin begeistert. Noch ein Quäntchen länger vielleicht... aber mein Gott... irgend wie ist ja immer noch Luft nach oben, dennoch es reicht Mehr als zu.  

Dit is een goed product en kwaliteit is altijd iets duurder, maar daarvoor heb je ook iets goeds en dat is het dubbel en dik waard.
