This **Wüsthof Melon Baller** is perfect when creating elegant fruit salads, garnishes and desserts. The scoops are made from stainless steel, are enhanced with sharp edges and the handle is made from anti-slip plastic.

Traditionally speaking a melon baller is a small, bowl-shaped spoon that was designed to turn soft fruits or vegetables into balls. You do so by sticking the spoon in the fruit and turning it in order to create a little ball. Perfect when making imaginative fruit salads like a three-coloured melon salad: juicy, bite-sized balls of red watermelon, green honeydew and orange melon. But you can also make bright-red balls from cooked beets, soft-green avocado balls or use other soft vegetables and fruit to make stunning garnishes. For a fancy dessert you can also use this melon baller to make small colourful balls of ice or sorbet. But you can also use it to hollow out vegetables or fruit, such as boiled potatoes, cooked carrots or cherry tomatoes. 

The blades are made from stainless steel and the ergonomically shaped handles are made from a top-quality type of synthetic plastic. Very hygienic and it offers you extra grip as you cut wet products. The plastic also ensures that the knives are dishwasher proof, but we do not recommend cleaning them in the dishwasher.

This remarkable production process ensures that these knives are, in comparison to other Wüsthof collections, very affordable. Because of the plastic handles the knives weigh next to nothing.
