The **Wüsthof Ikon bread knife, 20 cm** is a bread knife with a luxurious look and feel. Perfect when cutting all types of bread. From hard to soft crusts, from soft buns to baguettes. This all-round knife, however, can also cut through delicious pies or a large piece of celeriac.


**Please note:** this knife has an unusual tip! It looks broken or damaged, but was rounded by Wüsthof for safety reasons. After all, you won't hurt yourself if you use a blunt tip.

## Handle


This relatively exclusive Wüsthof collection is characterized by the remarkable handle material that was used. The handles are made from African black wood. This is a stunning dark type of wood that is also used to make wooden instruments such as oboes and clarinets. The grains in the wood make each product unique.


## Blade


Even though the handle is quite the eye catcher it doesn’t mean that little attention was paid to the blade. Like with other Wüsthof collections the blade is made from X50CrMoV15 steel, which was sharpened according to the PEtec method, and polished by hand. This type of steel is also easy to sharpen.


Another advantage of this blade is the crop. It doesn’t extend all the way to the edge, but does separate the handle from the blade. As such you not only keep your fingers safe, you can also use the entire edge. Also great when you want to sharpen the knife.

Prachtig mes, vlijmscherp. Alsof er geen stokbrood onder ligt.
Prijs/kwalieit een 8. Vanwege het bijzondere houten handvat is het mes ongeveer € 40,- duurder dan de standaard zwarte handgreep (en hij mag niet eens in de vaatasser). Maar goed, had al een set van 3 messen uit de zelfde serie dus het was een bewuste keuze.
Binnenkort nog een setje Naniwa stenen en het feest is compleet.

Fantastisch broodmes en zó scherp. Heerlijk om vers brood mee aan te snijden. Ik snij met plezier en zeer snel.

Dit mes is duur maar kwaliteit moet betaald worden.
Wat `n heerlijk mes om mee te werken,zelfs warm stokbrood blijft mooi rond als je het snijdt.
20 jaar te laat gekocht.
