The **Spyderco Respect FB44GP** was designed by Sal Glesser, the founder of Spyderco. Sal Glesser has been a fan of bowie knives his entire life. His goal was to create a modern version of the bowie knife with modern materials. The Respect, the name already suggests it, is an hommage to the classic bowie knife.

 As each bowie knife the Respect has been enhanced with the characteristic bowie-style blade and a steel crossguard. This crossguard does not only look very cool, it also has a protective function. It ensures that your hand won't slide towards the blade when you use it. This crossguard has a stunning polished finish and is nicely curved to make sure there are no sharp edges that can obstruct you. Spyderco selected CMP 154 steel for the blade. A modern type of steel that retains its sharpness well. In general Bowie knives have a thick blade to make it as robust as possible. Spyderco also continued this tradition. The blade of the Respect is at least 7.6 cm thick!

 The handle on the Respect is made from G10 with steel torx screws. As befits Spyderco the handle of the Respect is an ergonomic marvel. The handle fills the palm of your hand perfectly and feels very comfortable in hand. The end of the handle has a cut-out for your little finger to make sure the handle won't easily slip from your hand. As such you basically lock the Respect in your hand.

 A great detail is that the Spyderco Respect, like most classic bowie knives, is made in the United States. Matching such an exclusive, the Respect comes in a luxurious storage case with a stunning leather sheath to make sure you can carry the knife on your belt. This is possible both horizontally and vertically. The maximum belt width for this sheath is 4.5 cm.
