Spyderco introduced the Byrd collection as a more affordable alternative for the famous, but often more expensive Spyderco knives. The knives are produced in China based on Spyderco's quality standards using good designs and materials. The blades are made from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, which is comparable to the Japanese AUS8 stainless steel in terms of quality.
