The **Nitecore R40** is a powerful, rechargeable LED torch. The Cree XP-L HI LED offers 1000 lumens. The large reflector focuses it into a tight beam with a range of 520 meters. The construction quality is also excellent: the Nitecore R40 can take a beating. However, the biggest asset is the range of charging options.

 ## Nitecore R40: inductively rechargeable, revolutionary!

 The Nitecore R40 comes with a 5000mAh battery. It lasts for a very long time, but sooner or later recharging is of course inevitable. Fortunately, Nitecore took it up a notch for this flashlight in terms of charging options. On the back of the lamp you'll find a micro-USB port behind a rubber cover. Together with the included micro-USB cable, you can charge the Nitecore R40 from any USB port. So far little news.

 Unique to the Nitecore R40 is induction charging. The main advantage of induction is that no cable is needed between the lamp and the charger. So it's all about contact. The main advantage of this is the water resistance of the lamp. If you don't have to open the light, you reduce the risk of water damage. Especially in the long run.

 Two 'cradles' (charging stations) are included. One for the home and one for the road. You can use the home charger with the supplied AC adapter. Plug it into the wall socket and you have a solid base in which to place the lamp. Always on hand when you need it. You can even screw this charger to a workbench to prevent it from falling over.

 In addition, a second charger intended for in-car use is included. It also works through induction and is equipped with a 12V charger for the cigarette lighter. This cradle also has screw holes to secure it in your car.

 Now you might think the only nice thing about the R40 is the charging system. But nothing could be further from the truth! Nitecore has also filled the R40 with other technical gadgets. This is how you can read the battery voltage from the LED in the side switch. By flashing it shows the current voltage of the battery on request. The LED has placed Nitecore on a very good heat sink and advanced (thermal) security is also present.

 A beam of 1000 lumens is often too much. Luckily you can easily tune the R40 to one of the lower positions. In the *Ultralow*mode of 1 lumen you have 1000 hours of burn time. That's over 41 days of non-stop burning time!

* High (420 ANSI lumens, 4 h 30 min)
* Turbo (1000 ANSI lumens, 1 h 30 min)

 To find the Nitecore R40 in the dark you can turn on an indicator yourself. This is done by pressing and holding the power button for 3 seconds while switching off the lamp. 

 Please note that the supplied battery is made specifically for the Nitecore R40 and cannot be replaced by a regular 26650 battery.
