The **Mora Classic Original #1 Exclusive** is a limited edition version of one of the most famous knives in the Mora range. This model has been produced in the Swedish village of Mora for over a hundred years.


The knife is equipped with a simple birch wood handle and comes in a stamped, leather sheath with a belt loop. The blade is made from laminated tool steel. It has a hard core of non-stainless steel, flanked by softer steel. This results in a strong and reasonably flexible blade.


Only a limited number of these knives were produced. So be quick - this knife is only available while stocks last.

Da ich das Morakniv Classic Original No.1 nunmehr seit 3 1/2 Jahren in ständigem Gebrauch habe, denke ich, daß es an der Zeit für ein „long-term-review“ ist.
Zuerst aber ein herzliches Dankeschön an das Knivesandtools-Team für den stets professionellen, freundlichen und schnellen Service. Das ist heutzutage nicht mehr selbstverständlich.
1.) Die Verpackung.
Einfach und effektiv. Eine mit Holzwolle gepolsterte Faltschachtel, darin das Messer in einer simplen Plastikhülle sauber eingeölt verschweißt, schont Ressourcen und ist günstig. Punkt.
2.) Das Messer.
Extrem leicht, extrem scharf und extrem einfach gehalten. Ein Jagd- und Outdoormesser der alten Schule. Ohne optischen Firlefanz, futuristische Klingenform oder in-Weltraum-Eis-und-Vakuum-gehärtetem-Super-Monster-Stahl, sondern in 3-Lagen-Carbonstahl. Nicht rostfrei. Zäh, flexibel, gute Standzeit der Schärfe und aufgrund des echten Scandischliffs überall leicht und schnell nachzuschärfen. Der Griff aus hellem Birkenholz ist weder zu kurz (ich habe Handschuhgröße 11), noch ist er mit Kunsharz stabilisiert oder gar eingeölt. Tonnenförmig geformt bietet er trotzdem guten Halt und bekommt über die Jahre mit und durch den Gebrauch Flecken, Dellen- und Charakter. Und hin und wieder ein paar Tropfen Ballistol. Genau wie die durch den gesamten Griff gehende Klinge. Rostprobleme? Nie gehabt. Patina? Absolut. Wen‘s stört, kann mit Politur aufhübschen.
3.) Die Scheide.
Helle, mit nordischem Muster versehene und sauber vernähte Echtleder-Köcherscheide mit Gürtelschlaufe. Hält das Messer fest, sicher vor Verlust und selbst bei härterer Gangart absolut geräuschfrei an seinem Platz am Gürtel, in der Messer-Beintasche oder mittels Karabiner am Rucksack.
4.) Fazit.
Eine Klinge ohne Allüren. Tut was es soll, solang man es dafür benutzt, wozu es entwickelt und gefertigt wurde: Als Messer.
Begleitet mich seit dem Kauf treu und ohne mich je im Stich gelassen zu haben durch alle Kontinente und Klimazonen.
Ich hoffe, Morakniv nimmt dieses wirklich tolle Messer wieder in seine Produktion auf. Es wäre schade, wenn nicht.

Mes is vlijmscherp en volgens Morra standaard. Schede heeft geen harde insert, is erg krap en wordt daardoor veel te gemakkelijk ingesneden door het mes, dat bijna niet zonder schade is in te steken. Is voor mij de meerprijs niet waard.

Extrem scharf. Griff habe ich umgearbeitet, da er nicht sehr ergonomisch ist. Super leicht. Schön mitzunehmen im Wald oder zum 
Schnitzen.
