The Fiskars Safe-T X39 is a large 90 cm long axe. The unique aspect of this splitting axe is the strike head. The head is made from polymer. This has a number of advantages. With this polymer head you can safely hit a metal wedge. Metal on metal sometimes produces metal splinters, but with polymer the chance of particles flying around is much smaller. In addition, polymer reduces the vibrations when you use the axe.
