Wow, wow, wow! This **Böker River Damascus** is truly an amazing chef's knife! Do you want to own one? Be quick! This knife was only produced 39 times worldwide! As such it is no surprise that we are happy and proud to be able to offer these knives to our customers. It goes without saying that these knives are numbered and come with a certificate of authenticity, just like with other works of art.


This knife literally carries a piece of living history with it. The 180 layer Damascus was namely forged from a solid piece of the axle of an old transmission wheel from the Böker factory. This was carried out by hand by Chad Nichols from Mississippi: one of the most famous Damascus blacksmiths from the knife making community. 


As soon as this premium type of steel is forged, the knife has quite the road to travel before it is finished. After forging the piece is punched in the Böker factory in Solingen. It is heated and pushed into a solid mould by a two-ton hammer. Afterwards the knife is gradually cooled, deburred and calibrated. This process creates a wild Damascus pattern which is just as unique as a human fingerprint. After its travels it is ready for a new adventure - perhaps in your kitchen? 


The handle of this exceptional kitchen knife has the classic Solingen design. The breath-taking depth effect is created by combining certified imported amboyna wood with red resin.
