The **Bark River Highwayman III** is a large and impressive outdoor knife. Truly a knife that will bring a smile to your face when you hold it. Such a bowie with an elongated 'swedge' looks amazing.

The blade is made from A2 tool steel, a strong steel that would sooner bend rather than break. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: A2 is not completely stainless. Make sure to clean it after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has a convex grind that can be maintained by [stropping](/en/ct/stropping.htm) it.

The handle is made of canvas micarta, which is a strong and lightweight material made from linen and synthetic resin. It feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold conditions. On both sides the handle is flanked by a knife guard and pommel. The amount of manual labour involved is unimaginable for a (semi-)production knife such as this.

The handle of the Bark River Highwayman III is made from *stacked leather*. These are stacked leather discs which, combined, form one comfortable handle. On both sides the handle is flanked by spacers made from cool Black & Gold Maple wood and a knife guard and pommel. The amount of manual labour involved is unimaginable for a (semi-)production knife such as this.

The Bark River Highwayman III comes with a luxurious leather belt sheath.
