The **Bark River Gameskeeper** is a great hunting knife. This knife was specifically designed for larger game such as deer, elk or bear. This knife can handle the most demanding tasks. Towards the tip the blade is still really thick. As such the tip is extra strong. A flat finger groove was placed just behind the edge, before the crop. As such you can hold it a little closer to the edge for the more detailed tasks.



The blade is made from A2 tool steel. A strong type of steel that would rather bend than break. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: A2 is not completely stainless. So clean it after use and occasionally add a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).



The handle is made from canvas micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold circumstances.



The Bark River GamesKeeper comes with a leather belt sheath. You can carry it both straight (belt width up to 5.5 cm) and diagonally (belt width up to 6.0 cm).



Bark River makes all of its knives almost completely by hand. As such each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
