The **Bark River Aurora 2** was developed as the ultimate bushcraft knife. Prototypes of the Aurora were extensively tested by bushcraft-experts in North America and Europe. The Aurora was then perfected based on their feedback. The result is an amazing outdoor knife. The Bark River Aurora is perfectly balanced. The pointed tip is great for detailed tasks and the spine of the blade is perfect for a firesteel. This Aurora II is quite a lot bigger than the normal Aurora.

The blade is made from CPM 3CV-steel. A tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. As such, it won't break and will retain its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. Make sure to clean the knife after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil to keep it in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).

The handle is made from SureTouch G10. This is a combination of layers of G10 with layers of rubber. As a result, the knife can handle its own and offers you enough grip.

The Bark River Aurora comes with a leather belt sheath. You can carry it either upright (belt width up to 5.5 cm) or diagonally (belt width up to 6.0 cm). The sheath also has a loop for a firesteel (max. diameter ~7.0 mm).

Bark River Knives makes all of its knives almost entirely by hand. This means that each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials, a knife will have a unique look. Therefore, the knife you receive might be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
