This Robert Herder maintenance sponge, or loofah pad, is used to scrub discolouration or stubborn dirt from the carbon steel blade of your paring knife. Moisten the sponge before use. This causes it to swell up slightly. You can then use it to scrub away any discolouration on your blade, possibly with the help of a cleansing agent. To prevent accidents, always clean your blade on a flat surface such as a chopping board. After use, dry the knife thoroughly and allow the sponge to dry slowly at room temperature.
