The **Autine Kurbads** is a stunning outdoor knife that is made by hand in Latvia. The name Kurbads comes from a hero in an ancient Latvian folk tale. The Kurbads is perfect for your next hike or camping trip, but also as a hunting knife it can handle its own. 

 The blade is made from Elmax steel, hardened up to 61-62HRC. And the heat treatment is something Autine is famous for. You can use amazing steel, but if it isn’t hardened properly the entire knife is worthless. The Autine Elmex steel retains its sharpness well. It is something you can expect from 62HRC. At the same time the blade is tough enough to not break or chip at this hardness. The corrosion resistance is also great. With a blade thickness of only 2.5 mm this knife appears to be very thin. This benefits the cutting properties. This knife simply glides through the product. And it is absolutely amazing to work with. The edge is razor-sharp. Something Autine is famous for. 

 The handle on the Autine Kurbads is made from cherry wood. A type of wood with a stunning, warm look and feel. In terms of shape the handle is relatively narrow, but high enough to provide you enough surface for your hand. The finger groove at the front of the handle ensures that your hand cannot go anywhere when you hold it. When you look at the handle from above you see the so-called *Coke bottle shape*. A wavy shape that resembles a cola bottle. Incredibly ergonomic and popular. 

 The Autine Kurbads comes in a leather sheath. It is relatively flexible and will take the shape of the knife after some time.
